About Chandos Atelier

Chandos Atelier is a Bristol creative-education outfit best known for its after-school creativity clubs across the city - and its birthday offer brings that same studio spirit to your own home. A professional maker arrives on a Friday afternoon, sets up a calm, materials-rich creative session at your kitchen table, runs 90 minutes of making and then clears everything away. Everything made goes home with the guests. Parents' feedback is exceptional - a 5.0 Google rating from nearly a hundred reviews and a 5.0 store rating on its own site - with reviews repeatedly praising how calm, inclusive and absorbed the children are. Frequently asked questions

What is a Chandos Atelier party?
A 90-minute creative art party held at your own home, led by a professional maker who brings a calm, studio-style making session to your kitchen table. It is deliberately the opposite of a soft-play party, and everything the guests make goes home with them.
How much does it cost, and how many children can come?
The party costs £195 for up to 8 participants including the birthday child, with all materials included. Extra guests can sometimes be added at £15 each if you have the space.
What ages is it for?
From age 7 upwards, and it works brilliantly for older children, tweens and teens - adults are welcome to join in too. One theme, heat-press collage, is best from age 8.
What themes can we choose?
Seven themes: beadwork, small cardboard rooms, heat-press collage bags and pencil cases, wand-making, cushion painting, mini mannequins and heraldic shields. Pick one and the session is built around it.
What do we need at home?
Any room with a table or worktop big enough for the guests and a power socket within reach, as some themes use cool-melt glue guns or a heat press, safely supervised. The team sets up before guests arrive and leaves your place as they found it.
Can parents stay?
A couple of adults are welcome to stay in the party room, or you can leave the maker to it while you prepare the birthday tea - everyone on the team is DBS checked.
When can we book, and where do you travel?
Parties run on Fridays with flexible times, typically finishing by about 6pm. Travel is free in and around Bristol postcodes BS1 to BS9, with an extra charge beyond that.
How does booking work?
Send an enquiry with your preferred date and theme. Once the date is agreed, a £50 non-refundable deposit saves it and the balance is due two weeks before the party.

Emma did an art party for our daughter's 8th birthday at our house and it was so wonderful. The kids loved creating their designs and the look of wonder on their faces at seeing them heat pressed onto the tote bags was really magical. The whole thing was very relaxed and Emma was super with the kids. Couldn't recommend this highly enough!

Had an unforgettable experience today for my 8year old for her birthday! She celebrated with 8 friends at home with a creative party with Emma - and it was just perfect. So much creativity, fun and lovely creations. Can highly recommended!

I had a lovely afternoon at Chandos Atelier with Emma and the other creatives. Making min avatars, figurines, abstract models, whatever we were called to create, using Emma's amazing stash of materials!

Held 11yo’s birthday party at Goldfinch this week and it was fab! The kids got really involved in our “small rooms” activity and the time just flew. Emma was great with them and made sure everyone was involved and making progress. Highly recommend.

My daughter had a craft party hosted by Chandos Atelier yesterday and it was, quite simply, fabulous! The venue was set up ready for the first activity and the attendees were kept occupied for the entire time. The craft choices were great and the children at our party absolutely loved the cushions they painted. They also got to make badges so they were a very happy bunch. I cannot recommend Emma highly enough. She is calm, organised, super friendly and extremely talented - I would not hesitate to recommend her parties to others and have already been spreading the word!
