A WEBSITE BUILT FOR PARENTS BY PARENTS.
Partyfind came about when Khalid Elhamri (Co-founder of Partyfind) was searching for alternative party themes within the Bristol area for his daughter’s 6th birthday.
Replicating the same choice as last year would be tedious and unimaginative so he spent hours after work surfing the internet for something different but there was no website that would simply show all the party package options that were available in his city.
To add to this, he had to seek her approval each time he found a party theme/supplier worth showing, which quickly became a mini-project as opposed to a simple selecting process.
After hours of surfing the web, his daughter finally approved of a “cupcake making party” with a small vendor only two roads away from where they actually lived, which turned out to be a cracker of a choice!
On the day of the party, parents were a little gobsmacked as to why they did not know about this venue before.
Light bulb moment!
Small party vendors like these need more online exposure because their websites are either not visible enough or so dated and un-user friendly it would take you some time before you could capture the most basic of information, like pricing on bundles, location, contact details etc.
This first impression is absolutely key to whether a parent would book their child’s birthday with them or not and most parents would simply swerve this risk and go ahead with booking the common vendors that most parents book every year as it would be way too risky to spoil their child’s dream of a perfect birthday.
After all, this event only comes around once a year!
Khalid and his neighborhood friend Stefan Delaunay (Co-founder of Partyfind) found themselves frequently discussing this issue together until one day the penny dropped and they took it upon themselves to build a website that would save parents hours of web surfing, ensuring they’ve viewed and assessed all the party services in their city before going ahead and booking their child’s birthday package.
Stefan is a senior self-made IT guru with over 20+ years of experience under his belt in eCommerce web development and Khalid is a commercial exectutive in IT solutions.
As parents themselves, they both understood the pain of finding new party ideas each year for their own kids, so they made it their mission to expose all the party themes/services available for kids to all parents across the UK.
