Lee Valley Ice Centre

Kids' birthday party venue in London

Lea Bridge Road, Leyton, London E10 7QL

Ice skating parties on Olympic-size rinks at the Better-run Leyton ice centre, with skate hire, catering from the on-site cafe and a party room option

About Lee Valley Ice Centre

Lee Valley Ice Centre on Lea Bridge Road is one of London's best ice venues - a modern Better-run centre with two Olympic-size rinks - and its birthday format is simple and complete: an hour of skating with skate hire included, two adult skaters allowed on the ice to supervise, then food from the on-site Brew Street Cafe in either a party area or, for a little more, a dedicated exclusive party room. Catering is included - sandwiches, crisps, veggie sticks and unlimited cordial - with a hot-food upgrade per child, and while outside food isn't permitted you are welcome to bring the birthday cake. Skating suits children from age three, with penguin skate aids for beginners and under-8s supervised on the ice by an adult. Both packages cover up to ten children, which makes this a strong small-party option. It is a busy, well-regarded public facility (4.2 stars from over 1,200 Google reviews); prices are published by the centre, food menus are chosen by email two weeks ahead, and booking is online

I took my whole family to Lee Valley Ice Centre today. I'm not keen on skating however my family are and loved every moment of it. The ice rink is huge and get's busy. Price was very good i.e. £15 per adult and £13 per child. Parking is free for four hours which is amazing !

I went in with my kids pre booked at Lea Valley ice rink . Given the Centre looks great but as I booked this on Better App. My concerns was when I booked I didn’t get a waiver and health and safety inductions. I havnt been on ice in awhile. And it’s an open sessions. When I got onto the ice for the first 15mins the ice was clean but not completely smooth there some deep dip in the ice. As I was skating clockwise, I skated into the dip and fell backwards and Fracture my left elbow. There wasn’t any first Aid on ice. I saw a lot of skater falling in those dips given the rink look smooth it’s clearly not. I had to go straight to Hospital given the pain I was experiencing. I couldn’t move my left arm. Being badly injured there was no one on ice to help me. Does Lea Valley have a Waiver? Because I wanted to speak to the Centre manager about this as it’s a hazard for uneven rink with deep dips. Especially when you have family on ice that doesn’t skate often. Just an advice. Day out has caused a major accident. That I don’t know who to report it too. As, the rink lacks staff on duty or on ice to assisted when accident happen. I also witness a skater fell backward as well and hit his head on hard ice and no one came to help him, as myself was badly injured and had to take myself to hospital to be told I fracture my left arm and elbow.

A fun place to exercise and enjoy skating while listening to your favorite songs. Excellent service on and off the ice. with a cafeteria to enjoy a rich coffee, a delicious chocolate and why not a tea or infusion to keep you warm.

What a beautifully designed place in a great location! Then we realised it has no soul. Very few people, heavily digital. Felt like people who really needed a gym (elderly, with disability etc) are purposefully priced out. They have good, well informed members of staff, who tried to be so helpful, but couldn't help us find an affordable solution. The manager had no time for this. Unlike the King's Hall Centre, there was no buzz and no community feel whatsoever! Very sad.

I recently took my kids to the Lee Valley Ice Centre, and it was an absolutely delightful experience! It had been many years since my last visit, and I was so impressed by the incredible upgrades and changes they’ve made. The modern facilities and welcoming atmosphere make it a fantastic spot for families. The free parking is a huge bonus, and the on-site café is perfect for enjoying a bite to eat or a warm drink after skating. My kids had an amazing time, and I can’t wait to come back again soon!
