Frequently asked questions

What age group are Hollow Rocks birthday parties suitable for?
Our sports birthday parties are perfectly designed for children aged 5 to 12 years old. However, our experienced coaches can adapt physical games and drills for younger groups (starting from age 3).
How many children can attend the party?
The package is tailored for intimate, high-energy groups of 10 to 16 children. Please note that parents, guardians, or adult guests waiting in the café do not count toward this 16-guest limit.
How long does the birthday party last?
Parties run for a total of 2.5 hours. This includes 90 minutes of structured, active sports drills and games followed by 60 minutes in the café for food, cake, and socializing.
What kind of sports and games do the coaches run?
The physical session is completely bespoke! When you book, our team will contact you to find out your child's favorite sports (e.g., football, basketball, gymnastics, cricket, athletics) and even their favorite sports stars. We then build custom games and drills centered around those preferences.
What is included in the venue’s "full service" hosting?
We take the stress out of planning by handling the setup and cleanup completely. The package includes: - Exclusive private use of our sports studio and café. - Complete party decorations (including balloons). - Custom digital invitations to send to your guests. - Background music confirmed with you ahead of time. - Two dedicated sports coaches to run the activities, plus front-of-house staff to manage food.
What food and drinks are provided for the children?
Following the sports session, children enjoy a relaxed meal in our café. We serve freshly prepared, stone-baked sourdough pizzas made on-site, a platter of fresh seasonal fruit, unlimited juices, and ice cream.
Can we bring our own birthday cake?
Yes, you are welcome to bring your own birthday cake. Alternatively, we offer an optional add-on where you can order a custom-made celebration cake directly through us.
Is there food and drink available for the parents who stay?
Yes! Parents can relax in our café lounge, which directly overlooks the sports area. While watching the activities, adults can purchase items from our regular menu, including artisan coffees, smoothies, breakfast plates, lunches, and acai bowls. Optional catering add-ons for adult guests can also be arranged when booking.
Do parents need to sign anything before their kids participate?
Yes. For safety reasons, a standard liability and physical activity waiver must be signed by a parent or guardian on-site before children are permitted to participate in the sports session.
Is there parking available at the venue?
Hollow Rocks does not have dedicated on-site parking, and there is no direct street parking outside the venue on Essex Road. However, you can temporarily stop to unload party supplies. We recommend guests use public transport (we are a short walk from Angel Subway Station) or look up local Islington Council parking bays nearby.
How early should we arrive for the party?
To keep our schedule running smoothly and ensure the studio is fully ready for you, please arrive no more than 15 minutes before your booked start time.
What is the cancellation and refund policy?
- Cancellations made 30 days or more in advance will receive a full refund. - Cancellations made between 30 days and 7 days in advance will receive a 50% refund. - Cancellations made within 7 days of the scheduled party are non-refundable.

We have been using the day time kids Sports Classes. Marc has been amazing with my 3 boys. He has a calming nature but can match the kids energy matched with good banta. This is such a good find in islington and would highly recommend it. The staff are friendly and professional.

They run several sports sessions for kids from ages 2-4 and 4-7. The coaches are excellent, really good at engaging with kids and ensuring they make the most of their sessions. The sessions are very easy to book and the staff is quite flexible to accommodate last minute bookings. The venue is a bit small, but big enough for the classes and drills required for kids at that age They’ve got an excellent cafe on site serving high quality, and healthy food and drinks.

I attended a few beginner boxing classes and Dan is a great instructor. The class size is small, which allows him to check everyone’s combinations and correct them. He is very patient, which motivates me to try harder. I look forward to continue more classes.

I attended Hollow Rocks 148 basketball classes in 6 months from March to September this year. All the staffs and people who join the sessions are some of the most genuine people I’ve ever met. Give Hollow Rocks a try, you wont regret it!

I attended my first beginners boxing class, it was great fun, very friendly staff. Dan the boxing coach was friendly and gave lots of helpful pointers! I ended up being very early so sat in the cafe, a great vibe, lovely fresh orange juice. Chatted with staff on the cafe, all round a great experience and I'll be back!
