Art Party
A themed two-hour painting party: each guest paints their own tote-bag canvas around your chosen theme - Treasure Islands, Wonderful Winged Creatures, Pop Art Profiles or something bespoke - with all materials provided and every creation going home. Minimum 6 children; usually Saturday afternoons (12.30-2.30 or 3.30-5.30).

Hello there, I have been coming to kite studios for a year and a half. I never knew much about pottery or though about it. I became really passionate about pottery and have been loving all the amazing people who help and teach everyone! The people I specifically enjoyed learning from for pottery and that I thought were very amazing teachers and guides for younger students are (in no specific order); Klara, Auriol, Izzy and Fara. I really recommend anyone of any age who is interested in pottery, clay, ceramics, art, paint or anything similar to try kite studios!

It's very easy to miss the opening to this tall slim studio courtyard in Bassein road. Local children, schools and budding artists of all ages obviously know where it is. It doesn't have bells and whistles signage. Just look for the graphics as you turn right off Askew road. If you pass too many terraced houses you've walked too far. It has a deep entrance behind a wooden planter door. There's plenty of bike parking inside which is a plus. When the weathers sunny you can enjoy a seat inside the narrow courtyard. Studios of various kinds lead off it which will either have an art class going on or will be hosting an artist or potters exhibits. It isn't the most accessible of spaces so if you're a wheelchair user you will have to request use of a ramp to enter even the ground floor studios. I could get to the upper gallery upstairs but it wasn't an easy climb for me with arthritis either.

I've been doing art and pottery at Kite for almost a decade and absolutely love the place. The teachers are knowledgeable and encouraging and everyone is given a warm welcome. My two boys really enjoy the holiday workshops and events. I have just joined the Friday afternoon fortnightly Drop in and Draw class - it's the perfect way to start the weekend.

We celebrated the birthday party of our daughter in October at Kite studios. My daughter and her friends had a great time, they enjoyed the 'throwing', the 'pinching' etc. Overall, fantastic. And then the problems... We were supposed to get back the items made by the children, after they had been fired, etc. But after repeated follow ups, and incorrect informationt, there have been items missing, the list to correspond the child to the creation is unavailable... And while they are apologetic, they aren't helpful at all. Such a pity.. if you'd have asked me 3 weeks back, I'd have rated them a 5. Thankfully, i waited to rate them!

3 years ago I attended pottery beginners course in Kite studios. That triggered my passion for pottery. Now I am selling my own Askew pottery! And it all started in Kite Studios! Lovely venue and friendly people as well. Very relaxed atmosphere.
