We had our first lesson at Stag Lodge yesterday and Ellie was an absolute superstar, made us all feel so relaxed and got my little boy trotting on his first attempt! Ellie is now his hero because he thinks he is a Knight, will definitely be going back! And just the most beautiful setting in Richmond park you can imagine!

I have had my two horses in livery at Stag Lodge for a number of years now. The livery yard is small, warm and welcoming with lovely staff and other livery owners. Leonie and Sam who manage the yard always put the individual care for each of the horse above anything else and I know that when I am not there my horses are well looked after and any requirements are met to a high standard. Leonie is also a highly qualified dressage rider and trainer and I really enjoy regular lessons with her to further help me and my horse to advance. Being adjacent to a riding school means there are plenty of arenas to choose from in different sizes and with a range of jumps and other training equipment at hand. Richmond Park and Wimbledon Common offer miles of great hacking at a short lorry ride away, which is easy to organise with the yard. There are also plenty of fun little competitions at the stables and plenty of opportunities to go out to train and compete with so many different world class venues at max 1 hour lorry drive away. The only compromise for an inner London location is that grass turnout is weather dependent due to clay soil, but when wet there is a walker and all-weather turnout so horses still get plenty of stretch and time out with friends. I would recommend Stag Lodge in a heartbeat for anyone after welcoming and close-knit atmosphere with lots of expert advice and support available when needed.

Had an absolutely beautiful ride with Robyn today. I have ridden for most of my life and the stables assessed my experience and catered to my ability. We had some lovely trots and canters in the park and my horse was absolutely perfect for me. (Her name was Nutmeg and she was fantastic!) the co diction of the horses and the yard was top notch and it is clear that they really care about their animals and staff. Highly recommend. I will definitely be coming back.
