We attended a toddler climbing session last week and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. The session was advertised as an introduction to climbing for toddlers, with staff on hand to encourage children and help build their confidence. Sadly, this was not what we experienced at all. My 2 year old son was clearly nervous and unsure, but the instructor made very little effort to engage with him or help him feel comfortable. He spent most of the session was spent standing at a computer rather than interacting with us or demonstrating the activity. I actually had to ask the instructor to put a harness on and show my son what to do. As a primary school teacher, I understand how important enthusiasm, modelling and encouragement are when introducing young children to a completely new activity. Toddlers need reassurance and support to build confidence, especially in an unfamiliar environment, and this simply did not happen. What made it more disappointing was that we were the only family there, so there was plenty of opportunity for some one-to-one encouragement which could have made all the difference. Sadly, my son became so uncomfortable and upset that we left after only 10 minutes. The experience fell far below what was advertised and was extremely disappointing.

I went to a few clip n climb but this one had very kind and supportivw staff. They patiently encouraged childrem and help thrm to secure themselves to each climb. Locklan is a fantastic and patient support for all children anxious to confident. He asks their names and give them tips yo improve. My son tried a lot of walls thanks to his support.

We were very disappointed to have our child’s birthday booking cancelled with one working day’s notice because the session was deemed “not viable” due to numbers, despite having booked a week in advance. Time off work had been arranged and plans made around this. While a refund was issued, the cancellation itself caused unnecessary stress and disappointment. We did manage to have a great day elsewhere, but I would advise other parents to be cautious when booking birthdays here, particularly for weekdays.

I like going there with the children. Even the 4 year old has good fun there and got to join in after initial hesitation. I really liked the discount they had on over the last half term break. At c £22 per person, a climbing trip for the family sets you back a meaningful amount. Maybe there could be different charging models like you buy 10 sessions at a discount and use them up (like is common in other climbing centres)? Would make it more attractive for regular customers and build loyalty.

I have just taken a small summer club of children (18) to Clip n Climb and I just want to thank them for THE best experience ever! From booking to the very end they were exceptional. Natasha who helped with the booking is patient and kind, D'Arcy on reception was patient and very helpful and kind. Obviously the floor staff on the day were the stars. They made sure that EVERY child mattered! Our group was a mixed age group and mixed abilities, with a 3rd having varying additional needs. They were patient, kind, supportive and persevered with each child, encouraging them, climbing with them, and cheering them on, all the while keeping professional. To see these people help children achieve what they thought they never would takes some doing. The toilet facilities and cafe were excellent, very clean and great coffee (coming from a very picky huge coffee drinker!). While it is small there is good space for seating. Thanks to friendly professional staff and clearly a company with good ethics, while we paid, we were helped to keep the costs as low as possible without the need to beg, and the children experienced everything they have there. We have previously used another company that has outdoor adventure climbing, who were expensive (most of these children couldn't pay for these activities and would therefore miss out) with no discount or free place for carers and also staff who lack understanding and compassion for young people with additional needs, and that's if we could find them. So well done Clip n Climb., we would happily recommend you and will be back next year!
