Frequently asked questions
- How much does an entertainer cost?
- Entertainers are booked by the hour, starting at one hour. The Works entertainer is £200 for one hour, rising to £440 for four. A magician is £250 for an hour, a face painter £160, a balloon modeller £200, and a princess or superhero £210. All of these prices exclude VAT.
- What is The Works?
- It is the flagship option: one entertainer running music, games, balloon modelling, magic and bubbles across the whole booking. It is the closest thing to handing the party over to somebody else.
- How many children can one entertainer manage?
- One entertainer comfortably handles 20 to 25 children. Above that, book a second entertainer rather than a longer booking.
- Does the entertainment stop while the children eat?
- No, and this is deliberate. The entertainer keeps going with balloon modelling, face painting or tattoos while the children eat, so there is no lull.
- Is food provided?
- No. You provide the food, drink and cake. The entertainer works around them.
- How long do I need a face painter for?
- A face painter works one-to-one and gets through 12 to 15 faces an hour. Size the booking to the number of children rather than the length of the party.
- Are the entertainers DBS checked?
- They are fully insured, and every recruit goes through an application and an audition. They are not DBS checked — one-off party entertainers are not eligible under the DBS scheme's own criteria, which JoJoFun explains openly rather than glossing over.
- What do you need at the venue?
- Entertainers arrive 10 to 15 minutes early and need a plug socket. A bubble show performer needs about three metres by three metres.

Steve Haydon — Rating: 5/5
We booked a child’s entertainer for our party to allow parents a bit of free time. Booking and payment was smooth and we had direct contact with Valerie (aka Miss Squiggles) on a couple of occasions prior to the event to review options. The twelve or so children (aged 3 to 8) were engaged and happy with magic, games and bubbles - some commented to parents that they had a great time, so a pretty sound endorsement!

The party was a huge success and Jonathan was absolutely fantastic. The Punch and Judy show and the magic Jonathan did was engaging for both adults and children and he had everyone roaring with laughter. I will definitely be recommending him to other parents. If you are wanting something a bit unique with guaranteed laughter, book the Punch and Judy and ask for Jonathan :-)

Claudia was brilliant as a balloon artist at our daughter’s third birthday party. She communicated really well ahead of the event, was great with the kids and produced some spectacular balloon animals and dinosaurs which the kids loved - and even did some singing and dancing with them at the end!

What a truly amazing day, Jermaine as Bizz Lightear was fantastic, he really engaged with all the children and made my grandsons birthday truly special. I would not hesitate in recommending the team and Jermaine to any one. Thank you all so very much

We had a face painter and balloon modeller at a music related street party. Both were exceptional - professional and very talented. They worked hard throughout the event and were very busy! This is the second time we have used this company and would 100% recommend this company to others looking for entertainers for an event. Thank you for helping make the party a success!
