About Art Class London

Art Class London runs its parties from a proper working studio - Grenville Workshops on Hornsey Road, between Archway and Crouch End - with an experienced children's art tutor leading two focused, creative hours for groups of five to fifteen (an assistant joins for groups over ten). Two clearly priced tiers keep the choice simple: the paper-based party covers articulated creatures, collage and drawing projects, while the premium version steps up to canvas painting with acrylics, Modroc sculpture or printmaking - all materials, aprons and equipment included either way, and every child leaves with real artwork. Parties usually run Sunday afternoons from 4 to 6pm with other times sometimes possible, and parents are welcome to bring their own cake, sandwiches and refreshments (there's a kettle and fridge on hand). It suits ages six and up, and the feedback is exceptional - a perfect 5.0 from nearly 80 Google reviews. Pricing is published on the studio's current site, with a direct phone and email for bookings

This class is so wonderful and welcoming, and Maddie is an amazing, inspiring, generous teacher. The progression I saw in just 10 weeks was incredible and I will definitely be going back. Wish I could give it more than 5 stars ❤️

I took the ‘intro to drawing and painting’ course led by Maddie this term. It was a really well designed 10-week course, covering several impressionist & post-impressionist painters, learning new techniques, while giving freedom to develop my own style and ideas in the 4-week final project. Maddie is a great teacher with an excellent sense of will help you improve, but does so in a way which is engaging & makes you want to keep trying out new things! Highly recommend!

I’ve attended a printmaking course years ago and was pleasantly surprised, learning and expanding my knowledge. I returned this year as a teacher-in-training because there's always so much to learn from Dubravka. The lessons are perfectly structured, with introductory and practical sections. The final section, which recaps the production process with comments and considerations, is wonderful. I recommend it to anyone who wants to start, continue, or improve their artistic practice.

This place is a real gem. The classes are thoughtfully planned , varied and fun inspiring enjoyment of art. The teacher Maddie takes time to get to know people's strengths and interests which has really helped me experiment and push myself as a beginner artist. The flexibility in being able to attend different days is also an added bonus.

I have been taking lessons with Maddie for about three years now and I love her classes. Maddie is an amazing teacher who balances teaching techniques with helping each of us find our own personal style. She listens and guides, never imposes her style or a particular technique, encourages us to express ourselves and gives each of us personalised advice. She is probably the best teacher I've had in my life!
