Frequently asked questions
- How do the parties work?
- Children paint a themed pottery piece in the private downstairs party room, which you have to yourselves for a two-hour slot. The studio then glazes and fires every piece, and the birthday child receives a special keepsake plate.
- How much does a party cost?
- Party packages are £16, £22 or £26 per child depending on the theme, and every price includes the £6 studio fee covering paints, glazing and firing. The studio fee is paid when you book and the rest is settled on the day.
- What themes are there?
- Three themed parties: Party Animal with animal-shaped pieces for younger children, Breakfast Time with cereal bowls and pancake plates for slightly older ones, and Money Bank where each child paints their own money box.
- How many children and adults can come?
- Parties are for a minimum of 9 and a maximum of 16 children. Up to four accompanying adults come free, unless they would like to paint too.
- How long is the party, and what times are available?
- Party slots run 11am to 1pm or 2pm to 4pm, so you have up to two hours in the party room.
- Can we bring food, cake and decorations?
- Yes, you are welcome to bring your own food, cake and decorations. Squash is provided for the children, two hot drinks are included for adults, and there is a small on-site cafe. The studio is card-only.
- When do we collect the pottery?
- Pieces are glazed, fired and ready to collect in about ten days, and the studio will call you when everything is wrapped and waiting.
- Where is it, and is there parking?
- The studio is at 9 Byron Place on the Clifton Triangle, at the top of Park Street. The West End multi-storey car park and Triangle West bus stops are a short walk away. Note the party room is down a flight of stairs.
- How do we book?
- Send an enquiry with your preferred date, slot and numbers. The £6 per-child studio fee is taken at booking to secure the date, with the remaining balance due on the day of the party.

Had such a great time here for Mother’s Day morning with my husband and my 3 year old daughter. She loved getting stuck in painting a mug while i painted her a birthday plate - a special personalised keepsake she can use every year☺️ You pay per person for the table and then you purchase the crockery you want to paint when you’re there. The prices are on the pricey side (£20 for a plate, £18 for the mug) however I think it’s worth it for the experience and as mentioned, having a nice keepsake to keep forever! Theres hot drinks and a few snacks available to purchase and the staff were all so lovely. I would 100% return!

Fantastic experience for my 60th birthday. The room was set up ready for us and we were thoroughly looked after. It was such a fun experience to share with my friends (splodges on 60th plate were everyone's thumb prints), and we all have a momento of my birthday. Thank you Flying Saucers xxxx

We had such an amazing time at Flying Saucers Pottery Painting. It’s a fun, relaxing and great way to spend a few hours! The staff are always friendly and welcoming and helpful from the moment we arrived. We were given two hours in which to paint, depending on the piece depends on if more time is needed as two hours is tight when you don’t want to rush your piece. It was great that we had a gentle reminder that 30 minutes remained and then when the time was up was asked very nicely to come and bring our pieces up to the desk so they could take down the details and let us take pictures for when we go to collect our pieces in a weeks time. We are excited to go back and collect our pieces and can’t thank the staff enough for the welcoming and calmness of the whole painting experience. We love coming back every time, and can’t wait to book online and paint again in the new year.
