Peas in a Pod is professional storyteller Paula Brown, who brings interactive story parties to homes, preschools and small venues in and around Bristol. A teacher, play therapist and Early Years specialist by background, she weaves each party around the birthday child's interests - a jungle search for a lost animal, a high-seas princess rescue - layering in music, movement, puppets, bubbles, dance, games and a giant parachute before winding everyone down with a calming sit-down story. There are three formats: the lively Adventure Party, the calmer Storytelling Party for bigger groups of listeners, and a gentle Baby and Toddler version that runs midweek and in the holidays. It is a lovely fit for ages two to seven and works well with mixed ages, so younger siblings can join in. Paula also tells stories at schools, festivals and weddings, and her pages are personal and current - though as a one-woman operation her diary fills, so enquire early for weekend dates

The Adventure Party

The lively option: an active themed story tailored to the birthday child's interests, woven through with music, movement, sensory play, puppets, bubbles, dance, games and the giant parachute, ending with a calming sit-down story and an imaginary birthday present. The Storytelling Party
